The American Eagle is a bullion coin that has been produced since 1986 by the US Mint. It is also the most famous and valued American investment coin. In addition, the American Eagle is currently the best-selling US bullion coin. It is made of 22 carat gold with an admixture of copper and a small addition of silver, which results in a higher weight of the coin. Its enormous popularity in the United States contributes more and more to its greater interest outside the issuer's country. 
 After more than three decades of production with the same iconic design elements, the United States Mint is introducing changes to its Gold Eagle series for the first time in history. The new reverse design of the American Eagle celebrates 35 years of minting this iconic coin.  In a realistic painting, he joins August Saint-Gaudens to the historical obverse of Liberty.
 
 The obverse of the coin is decorated with the image of Liberty - Freedom, which is the embodiment of one of the most important values that is the foundation of the American state. Liberty holds the attributes that symbolize peace: a torch and an olive branch. In the background you can see the sunrise over the Capitol building. The edge of the coin is adorned with 50 stars, symbolizing the 50 US states.
 
 The reverse of the coin is decorated with an eagle staring into the distance. Above it is the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" referring to the issuer's country. We can also find here the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (from Latin from  many one) and "IN GOD WE TRUST".  In the lower part of the coin there is an inscription informing about the weight of gold and the face value of the coin.
